How many times in each day do you worry about something? Do you worry about the same issue, day after day? What causes you to “obsess” over these things? And when you worry, do you turn it into a prayer, or try to solve it in your own mind?
We all worry – we are all anxious at times – and we all obsess over things occasionally. But if we are spending our lifetime in excessive worry and anxiety, then we are failing to trust in the One who made us and loves us. God is faithful. HE knows our needs and will take care of them, if we allow Him to!! The key to this is prayer….we must remember that when a worrisome thought comes into our mind, that we can take that thought captive and start praying about it and then release it all to the Lord.
I read recently to make a list of your worries. Sit down one day and write down the things that you tend to worry about over and over. It may be your finances, your health issues, your relationship with someone; whatever it is, identify it and then pray over it and ask God to help you rely on Him to work it out. Re-visit that list as long as you need to as a reminder that God has it in his hands. Then, trust Him to take care of it – and be patient, waiting on God’s perfect timing.
This is proven to work – simply because God tell us in His Word – “Don’t worry about anything; Instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-7
So, stop worrying and turn your thoughts and cares over to the Lord of your life. HE is faithful and trustworthy.
